Orlandi’s roots can be traced back to 1865 when the company was established as a financial printing business. In 1915, Orlandi developed custom made chemically pure paper that became useful for fragrance testing. To this day, cosmetic chemists all over the world consider Orlandi brand paper to be the industry benchmark for developing and evaluating fragrances.

In the early 1950’s, Orlandi developed the blotter scenting process allowing the application of fragrance to printed paper, revolutionizing fine fragrance advertising. Cost effective direct mail and in-store sampling became possible and millions of blotter cards shipped daily for department store mailings and sampling.

Orlandi expanded into contract packaging in the mid 1960’s and in the 1970’s Orlandi diversified their scented paper products to include car air fresheners, drawer liners, cards, stationery and sachets. In 1980, we opened our BiCounty manufacturing facility in Farmingdale, NY to to handle production of these product lines.

TruEssence® branded scent strips were launched in 1990 when Orlandi developed improved micro-encapsulation technologies. This allowed for superior fragrance renditions and new possibilities in magazine fragrance strips. Orlandi has become one of the premiere worldwide manufacturers of fine fragrance sampling with TruEssence® scented strips. The international demand for Orlandi’s scented strips led to the opening our Paris office in 1996.

In July 2003, we opened an additional manufacturing facility in Farmingdale, New York. This facility is home to our Corporate Headquarters as well as manufacturing space for an enhanced printing department, pre-press area, and additional packaging and manufacturing equipment.

We expanded our global reach in 2012 by opening our office in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In July of 2013, Orlandi opened our newest facility in Farmingdale, NY which houses our laboratories and is solely dedicated to label manufacturing.
